The new Nintendo Switch Dock system is the latest in continuous game-play technology. When you are at home, the Switch connects the system to your TV. By lifting the Switch from the dock, it instantly transitions into portable mode that gives you the same game in high definition in its own screen. You can continue to game away from home uninterrupted.

The controllers are unique. Designated “Joy-Con controllers”, they’re detachable from either side of the Nintendo Switch. A single player can use one in each hand. Two Players can each use one side for two player games. Have more friends? You can take other Joy-Con controllers and divide them amongst your friends for multi-player activity.

Once you’re done with your friends, the controllers simply click back into place on the console or onto the Joy-Con grip accessorize, which turns it into a traditional controller. If you want a more traditional controller experience, you can use the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

You can also bring several systems together to use for multiplayer face to face fun.

According to the press release:

“Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO, Nintendo of America. “It gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries.”Developers can design their games supporting a variety of play styles, which gives gamers the freedom to choose an experience that best suits them.
