FANTASTIC FOUR Cast Announced
Twentieth Century Fox has announced the principle cast for the upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four.
Variety reports that Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell will round out the cast, joining Michael B. Jordan in the picture directed by Josh Trank. This follows a script polish by Simon Kinberg, who has stated in previous interviews that he wouldn’t mind seeing a crossover with the X-Men franchise, also produced at Fox.
Teller will play Reed Richards, while Mara takes on Sue Storm and Bell will play Ben Grimm. Jordan has been attached as Johnny Storm for a while now, and this announcement confirms the movie will be based on the Ultimate Fantastic Four from Marvel. This is a younger version of the team, which debuted at Marvel Comics in November 1961.
Rumors, of course, continue to abound — a female Dr. Doom, Reed and Ben getting their powers early and being taken in by the government — and Trank has been on Twitter lobbing denials left and right. The plot of the film remains shrouded, although there’s a good chance it could follow the origin as laid out in Ultimate Fantastic Four, the rumor about the government program may not be that far off.
The Fantastic Four hits theaters June 19, 2015.
