CUPHEAD: THE DELICIOUS LAST COURSE – New DLC Delayed
Cuphead fans will have to wait a little longer to play more of the unique sidescroller. Studio MDHR announced in a press release the DLC titled Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course has been delayed to 2020.
It appears the DLC needs more time than originally thought to finish. Studio MDHR is a small independent developer that puts a big emphasis on worker health, so the delay is understandable.
“While we initially announced a 2019 release date for the Delicious Last Course expansion,” Studio MDHR said, “our highest priority is making sure this new adventure meets the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for…We’ll be moving the release of The Delicious Last Course, for all platforms, to 2020.”
“Crunch” has been a common practice in the video game industry for a long time. It is the period leading up to the release of a game when developers have to work extremely long hours to make sure the game comes out on time. Thankfully, Studio MDHR is one of the increasing number of developers working to make “crunch” a thing of the past.
Luckily, Studio MDHR didn’t leave Cuphead fans hanging. MDHR released a new trailer featuring gameplay and two new bosses. You can watch the trailer here:
Cuphead took the world by storm when it released on Xbox One in 2017. Despite being extremely difficult, the game has a massive following for its unique gameplay and early 20th-century animation look.
The Delicious Last Course expansion, announced at E3 2018, will bring a new island to the game. You’ll have more bosses, weapons, charms, and the new character – Ms. Chalice.
