Casting News

Arrow’s  Bex Taylor-Klaus (Sara and Roy’s street friend Sin) will be visiting TNT’s upcoming show The Librarians. The actress will appear in Episode 6 as Amy Meyer, a type-A, overachieving high school senior who’s desperate to be a normal girl. Amy is the one to beat at the Chicagoland STEM Fair (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), where the best and brightest show off the future, and her mom isn’t leaving without the top prize.

TVLine has learned that Laura Mennell, who played Nina on Syfy’s Alphas, has joined Haven Season 5 in the recurring role of Dr. Erin Reid, a brilliant epidemiologist from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who fears the titular town is on the verge of a deadly viral outbreak. Dr. Reid is described as “a force to be reckoned with,” as Audrey (played by Emily Rose), Nathan (Lucas Bryant) and Duke (Eric Balfour) quickly will discover. And while Dwight (Adam Copeland) will work overtime to keep hidden Haven’s secrets, the CDC whiz unknowingly uncovers a genetic marker found only in Troubled people. It will certainly put an interesting twist to the series’ plot.

Arrow is casting four new characters, two of which will appear in Oliver’s flashbacks.

‘DANIEL’ | Though Daniel could be a fake name to throw off spoilerholics, this 20something gent — a major recurring character for Season 3 — is a handsome, enigmatic and highly intelligent entrepreneur developing groundbreaking technology. (Picture a business magnate in Ryan Gosling’s body.) Though exuding charm and confidence in public, he privately harbors a tragic past that will drive him to become a tech-powered superhero. Watch for this formidable fella to be a love interest for Felicity and a rival of Oliver’s – both personally and professionally.

‘SETH’ | A well-educated criminal with grand ambitions and a knack for chemistry, this potentially recurring character gains power over his enemies by exposing them to a drug that drains their willpower. Oh, and he is very much a physical match for The Arrow.

TOSHI | Majorly recurring in (at least) the Hong Kong flashbacks, Toshi (late 20s/early 30s) will serve as Oliver’s teacher and handler, and eventually become a friend. A well-trained operative, skilled in weaponry, combat and intelligence gathering, he is also a devoted father and husband.

AKIKO | Toshi’s wife is another of Oliver’s Hong Kong caretakers, and is herself highly skilled in martial arts.

Stars Speak Out

Gotham stars David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne) and Camren Bicondov (Catwoman) spoke at a recent press screening about their characters and what fans can expect. Executive producer John Stephens also had some things to share:

We loved the idea that these characters are going to run into each other and are going to shape each other into who they are going to be. It’s always interesting when dealing with characters where we know there end-place. Like we know that 15 years from now, Bruce is going to put on the mask and we’re wondering: what is the journey that is going to take him there? Or what is it going to be to make become Catwoman? It is making that unexpected journey that keeps us interested. Plus, with Batman and Catwoman, we’ve always wondered: is it just sexual tension or do they see something in each other — and I think the pilot answers that question.

In a recent conference call, Dominion‘s creator and executive producer Vaun Wilmott talked about how much the TV show will be connected to the movie Legion:

Legion was definitely kind of our foundation and then from there the show grew into its own thing with, you know, new rules, new terms, new angels, new – you know, new mythology, new mythology for the chosen one. Then of course for the TV show, you know, a whole new setting, all new characters with just a couple of the characters from Legion moving into TV show, the baby growing up to be Alex, Michael, Gabriel, Jeep. But it’s definitely become its own thing in terms of the TV show, Dominion.

He also shared some details about the world the characters live in.

It’s not an alternate reality. It is very much based in what could have happened and Vega has a lot of, you know, giant casino hotels that could actually be perfect for housing people if need be. And we use all of that to basically create this new city, this new civilization, built a wall around it as Chris said to protect this from the angels. But it will definitely be a recognizable world in terms of things we know. But it will also have things, I think, that, you know, the what if aspect of the storytelling.

In other Gotham news, a full, unedited interview from the CTV’s Upfronts has been released. Watch Ben McKenzie who plays leading man Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue (Detective Harvey Bullock) and Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot) answer a variety of questions regarding the show:

SpoilerTV put together a collection of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D cast interviews, some of which talk about season 2. Check them out below:

Teen Wolf is Coming

MTV has released the updated main title credits for Teen Wolf‘s season 4. Both Arden Cho (Kira) and Shelley Hennig (Malia) get a spot in the intro.
