THE MANDALORIAN Adds Michaeal Biehn; Rosario Dawson

First reported by Making Star Wars, it’s now been confirmed that Michaeal Biehn has joined the cast of The Mandalorian for season two.

Biehn will reportedly play a bounty hunter from Mando’s past, and some are already speculating on his character. Many are also speculating (hoping?) he may be playing smuggler Dash Rendar from the Legends Expanded Universe. Rendar first appeared in Shadows of the Empire, a multimedia project that crossed over between novel, comics, video games, trading cards, and toys, along with its own soundtrack album with music by composer Joel McNeely. Rendar has since been re-introduced into canon in the Solo: A Star Wars Story book Tales From Vandor by Jason Fry.

Biehn is certainly no stranger to genre, having appeared in The Terminator, Aliens, and The Abyss. He’s also had roles in TombstoneThe Rock, the TV adaptation of The Magnificent Seven, and Metal Hurlant Chronicles. His first film role was in Logan’s Run.

The news follows the announcement that Rosario Dawson will be playing Ahsoka Tano, which has been met with mixed reactions from fans online. Many were hoping that the live action version would be played by Ashley Eckstein, who has voiced the character in both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. Eckstein has since posted to Instagram her reaction to the news.

We first reported Dawson’s casting, along with other Star Wars news, on Episode 88 of Salacious Crumbs.
