The Geekly with a Twist: March 22nd-28th

Heading out to Wizard World St. Louis early in the morning, so here’s an early and abbreviated Geekly for you all!

March 22nd, 1931: A man known for both his atypical acting style as well as his alien-swooning ways, William Shatner is born in Montreal.

March 22nd, 1946: Rudy Rucker, scifi author, computer scientist, and mathematician is born in Louisville, Kentucky.

March 22nd, 1950: One of the Time Ladies (Romana- the first regeneration, a companion of the Fourth Doctor), Mary Tamm is born in Yorkshire.

March 24th, 1973: Big Bang actor Jim Parsons is born in Houston, Texas.

March 25th, 1920: The man who introduced everyone to a new face of the Doctor, that is to say the Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton is born in Mill Hill (a part of London).

March 25th, 2003: The Tolkien Society celebrates the first Tolkien Reading Day. The day was chosen in honor of the fall of Sauron in the books and promotes the reading of the works of the Great Professor.

March 28th, 1972: Notable geek Nick Frost is born in London, England.

March 28th, 1981: Torchwood employee and the partner of H.G. Wells in Warehouse 13, Gareth David-Lloyd is born in Newport, Wales.

  • 1 1/2 parts vanilla vodka
  • 1 1/2 parts blue curacao
  • 6 parts lemon-lime soda

Pour all ingredients into a glass and stir!
