2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards Announced

Sony’s Crunchyroll has announced the winners of the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, honoring creators, musicians, and performers in the global anime industry. The tenth annual event took place at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa in Tokyo on Saturday, May 23 as part of a live streaming broadcast.

Hosted once again by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira, both returning for their fourth year, the event featured a global slate of celebrity fan presenters accompanied by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Hirofumi Kurita. Japanese singer Yoko Takahashi performed a 30th anniversary tribute to Neon Genesis Evangelion with “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” and Asian Kung-Fu Generation performed they hit “Haruka Kanata” from Naruto. The show concluded with Pornograffitti delivering a performance in honor of My Hero Academia‘s 10th anniversary.

During the ceremony, director Tatsuya Nagamine was honored with the Global Impact Award, recognizing his groundbreaking works and their impact on culture and history. Hosts Kabira and Amaki presented a tribute to Ngamine-san’s career, and animator Masayuki Sato accepted the award on behalf of the esteemed director.

This year, a record-setting 73 million votes were cast by fans worldwide to select this year’s winners.
