SciFi4MeRadio_REDWith Heather French away, Timothy Harvey is joined this week by Kammie Settle to discuss “Sisters of the Sun”, the latest episode of FOX’s COSMOS: A Spacetime Odyssey!

Host Neil deGrasse Tyson takes us out into the Universe to explore the life and death of the stars; to ancient times when humanity looked up into the night sky and made pictures from their myths, forward in time to the early years of the 20th century, telling the stories of the unsung women scientists who discovered the methods we still use today to understand those distant suns. In a time when women were not regarded as being able to even be “real” scientists, the women of “Pickering’s Harem” were developing the classification systems that tells us what the stars are, creating stellar cartography and paving the way for all the women and men who would follow them in exploring the Heavens.

COSMOS: A Spacetime Odyssey, hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson, airs on 10 Fox networks including FOX and FX Sundays at 9:00PM Eastern/8:00PM Central, and Mondays on the National Geographic Channel.
