THE WALKING DEAD Gets Second Spin-Off Series

Nico Tortorella (Younger) has been tapped for a lead role in the upcoming third series in The Walking Dead franchise on AMC. The story will focus on a man named Felix, a man of honor who isn’t afraid to to fight for the safety of others. The spinoff shall focus on the first generation of people born after the zombie apocalypse occurred. It is described as being a coming-of-age story, where the characters must change in a world that is unkind and gruesome.

The show is in production in and around Richmond, VA. Nico will be joining the likes of Annet Mahendru (Huck) and Aliyah Royale (Iris) join Alexa Mansour (Hope), Nicolas Cantu (Elton) and Hal Cumpston (Silas).

The show shall come out in Spring 2020. Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct the series, and The Walking Dead writer and producer Matt Negrete will serve as the series’ showrunner.

No word on the exact date of this show, or whether it will tie into the Rick Grimes movie. AMC didn’t disclose whether this was canon to the comics (which are now done with) or the television show. There is also no word on how long this new television series shall be.
