Syfy: More FACE OFF, BEING HUMAN & New LEGION

Syfy has made a few announcements this week, that many fans will celebrate. The network has renewed both Face Off and Being Human each for third seasons.

The FX make-up reality show has scored big numbers this season, and will feature Levar Burton in the February 22nd episode. This comes after Sam Huntington and Vivica A. Fox took turns as guest judges earlier this season.

The show pits a number of special effects make-up artists in a competition to see who will win seed money to boost a career in make-up effects. Judges are renowned effects artists Ve Neill, Glenn Hetrick and Patrick Tatopoulos.

Being Human has see double-digit growth in numbers this season, and the show boasts a 52% female audience.

Mark Stern, President of Original Content, says, “With the success of season two, Being Human has become a premier destination for Syfy viewers. Jeremy Carver and Anne Fricke have taken this series to new heights this year, and we’re excited to see where the third season will go.”

Deadline is reporting that Syfy also is developing a new series based on the 2010 movie Legion. Director/co-writer Paul Scott will be attached to the new project as director and executive producer. The adaptation will be written by Vaun Wilmott (Sons of Anarchy) for Sony Pictures TV.
