The Force is strong with the crew of the Ghost. Disney and Lucasfilm have announced that Star Wars Rebels will return for a fourth season on Disney XD. Production is already underway on a set of new episodes.

“The team behind Star Wars Rebels delivers epic storytelling that has captivated fans of all ages across the globe,” says Marc Buhaj, senior vice president, Programming and general manager, Disney XD. “We’re excited to continue sharing the journey of these fan-favorite Rebels with our audience in the fall.”

Rebels rated as Disney XD’s #1 series in total viewers for 2016 and #1 animated series for key kid and boy demographics, with over 60 million engagements across digital platforms. The show also had several elements appear as Easter eggs in Rogue One, and many speculate the end of the show’s run will be the battle of Scarif.

One of the many rumors currently across the internet has Rebels characters Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren possibly appearing in The Last Jedi, played by Benecio Del Toro and Laura Dern, respectively, although Del Toro is also rumored to be playing the son of Boba Fett, so take anything you hear with bags of salt at the ready.

But if there’s a connection between The Last Jedi and Rebels, it makes sense to continue the series. You can read recaps of the current season through this link.
