POWERLESS Adds to Cast
Well, it looks like maybe Alan Tudyk won’t be playing Booster Gold or Blue Beetle anytime soon…
Tudyk, along with Danny Pudi and Christina Kirk, have just been added to the cast of NBC’s Powerless, which announces Vanessa Hudgens in the lead role of Emily Locke yesterday. The show will be headed up by Ben Queen and Michael Patrick Jann.
Pudi, who also appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Community, will play Emily’s best friend Teddy, who spends a bulk of his time building pranks to make the insurance office “a little less unsuper”.
Kirk (A to Z, also created by Ben Queen) will play Jackie, assistant to the new boss and fan of the capes, especially the guys. Her cubicle is wallpapered with photos and art of the manly men in their spandex. Only she doesn’t hold up too well dealing with the demands of the new boss.
Said boss, Del, to be played by Tudyk. Del is the new guy in charge of the claims department, there only because he’s the company owner’s son. Power-mad and dictatorial in his process, he’s a self-proclaimed “rich, over-educated globetrotting wastrel”.
Powerless has been ordered to pilot, but that doesn’t mean it will make it to a series order. This being the first comedy in the DC filmed universe, a lot of expectations will doubtless be attached to the project.
And it probably also means that Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion won’t be giving us Blue and Gold, either…
