Netflix Casts Molly Parker in LOST IN SPACE
Emmy nominated actress Molly Parker has been cast to play the role of the matriarch, Maureen Robinson, in the Netflix Lost in Space reboot.
Toby Stephens will play her husband, astrophysicist/expedition commander John Robinson; Maxwell Jenkins as her son, Will Robinson; and Taylor Russell as her daughter Judy Robinson.
The Netflix reboot of the legendary 1965 TV drama follows the adventures of the Robinson family sent into space for colonization. However, their ship is sabotaged by Dr Zachary Smith, causing the group to be stranded light years from their intended destination. They battle new alien environments as well as their own person demons.
June Lockhart starred as the original Maureen in the series. Mimi Rogers portrayed her in the 1998 film adaptation.
Parker has recently been on Netflix’s House of Cards and will soon be in the Amazon drama Goliath. She has also been seen in Dexter and Deadwood.
Lost in Space is slated for a 10 episode run in 2018. The show will be written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Dracula Untold, Last Witch Hunter) with Zack Estrin (Prison Break) as the executive producer.
