Mysteries UNXPLAINED By William Shatner

William Shatner is returning to the small screen as host to The History Channel’s new show, The UnXplained. Creator and producer of other History Channel hits Ancient Aliens and The Curse of Oak Island Kevin Burns will executive produce.

The UnXplained will be an hour-long eight-episode anthology series taking on mysteries from around the world. Possible mysterious topics could include the creators of Stonehenge, Florida’s Coral Castle, Japan’s “Suicide Forest,” and of course, extraterrestrials. The show will feature top professionals from around the world in fields such as science, history, engineering, and research, helping shed light on the subject.

The UnXplained joins The History Channel’s lineup that includes the nonfiction series Ancient Aliens, In Search Of, and the recently announced Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation and the scripted hit Project Blue Book from executive producer Robert Zemeckis which recently was renewed for a second season.

History programming chief Eli Lehrer made this comment about the channel’s newest addition: “We strive to solve some of the world’s most intriguing mysteries and it’s this truth seeking that resonates most with our viewers. These shows will offer credible answers to questions about mysterious phenomena, while others will remain unexplained.  Who else better to transport audiences through this journey than William whose passion, curiosity and perseverance to present every side of these enigmas beam on screen.”

Shatner is no stranger to hosting hit shows on television. Rescue 911 was a huge success and ran from 1989 until 1996 on CBS. After he interviewed friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry on the Biography Channel’s Raw Nerve.

The UnXplained premieres on July 19 at 10 pm.
