LIVE FROM THE BUNKER: Ruth Lichtwardt Talks Worldcon 74
MidAmericon II chair Ruth Lichtwardt steps into the Bunker to discuss plans for the 74th Annual World Science Fiction Convention to be held in Kansas City. Complete with a masquerade, Star Wars day, the Campbell Conference, and the Hugo Awards, it promises to be a full week. The event runs August 17-21.
Named for the original MidAmericon, which hosted Worldcon in 1976, the current event will bring in authors, editors, and illustrators from all over the world, in addition to fans coming in to participate in the Hugos. Guests of honor include Kinuko Y. Craft, Tamora Pierce, Pat Cadigan, Michael Swanwick, and Patrick & Teresa Nielsen Hayden.
Plus: Charley Lippincott will be on hand with a re-creation of his 1976 publicity presentation for Star Wars.
