Cyberdyne Exoskeleton at CES

Tech writer Evan Ackerman got to take Cyberdyne’s HAL (Hybrid Assitive Limb) unit out for a spin at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 in Las Vegas.

Ackerman attached sensors to each thigh and his waist before suiting up and walking around in the exoskeleton, which has been going through trials in Japan for several years. The sensors pick up the electrical signals from the brain to the legs and move according to thought impulses.
