BLACK PANTHER Adds Nyong’o and Jordan

BANNER_News2013

In spite of the fact that Fantastic Four producer Simon Kinberg would like to make a “better” sequel with the same cast that was in the failed Josh Trank flick, Micheal B. Jordan is heading over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by way of Wakanda.

Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o are both in talks to join the cast of Black Panther.

Headshot_LupitaNyongo Headshot_MichaelBJordanDirected by Jordan’s Creed director, Ryan Coogler, Black Panther will tell the story of T’Challa and his role as protector of his people and the rare (and valuable) vibranium mines on the African continent. Fans got a glimpse of Wakanda in a post-credits scene as part of Captain America: Civil War.

Jordan’s role hasn’t been identified as of yet, but sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that it could be a villain.

Oscar winner Nyong’o, who won for her turn in 12 Years a Slave, is also reported to be in negotiations to star in the Marvel project opposite Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa) as his love interest. Which means probably not Princess Shuri, T’Challa’s half-sister. Nor would she be able to play Storm, as that character is committed to 20th Century Fox.

Black Panther will be in theaters February 16, 2018.
