BATTLE FOR BIKINI BOTTOM is Getting a Remake
Who’s saying, “I’m ready! I’m ready! I’m ready!” now that this news is out?
THQ Nordic released a teaser trailer for Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated today. The game is a remake of the original Battle for Bikini Bottom released in 2003.
There is no ESRB rating or a release date yet, but you will be able to play the game on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
The game already has a stream page, which says the game is a “faithful remake” of the original. The steam page also says there will be revived content that was cut from the original game such as a boss fight with Robo Squidward. Along with new high-end visuals and added content, there will be a new horde mode playable with up to two players.
The steam page does not go into too much detail about the game or its new features and content. The system requirements, for example, all say “I’m ready!” so the game might have to wait a little while for the game to release.
THQ published the original Battle for Bikini Bottom, and THQ Nordic acquired the rights when it bought the THQ name and many of its properties.
The original Battle For Bikini Bottom is a cult classic and is beloved by gamers and Spongebob fans alike. It is arguably the best Spongebob Squarepants video game which has a 71 Metascore and an 8.8 User Score on Metacritic.
