AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Ascends to an Absolute End (Ish) – LEVEL ELEVENTY-SEVEN #89

On the season finale of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we finally learn who’s in the cockpit of the dying Quinjet (spoilers: it’s who we thought it might be). As Daisy recovers from her time in Darth Ward’s thrall, and as the team works to foil Darth Ward’s plan, Darth Ward executes Villain 101 plan B — taking a page out of just about every other villain from Loki to Khan: get yourself caught.

What follows is a solid two hours of a shell game, as Yo-Yo’s cross makes it way from one hand to another, while Ward and his minions infiltrate the base in an attempt to neutralize the threat S.H.I.E.L.D. (and General Talbott’s moustache) pose to the Evil Plan That Is Evil: disperse the magic unicorn formula in the upper stratosphere to transform the humans of Europe into Updated Inhumans.

And that last scene has us all very excited for next season…
