TNT Orders LUMEN Pilot
Following word that TNT will be the home of the new Teen Titans adaptation from WB Television as well as the Neil Armstrong biographical miniseries, the network has now given a green light for TNT Original Prods. in association with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, Full Fathom Five and ABC Signature Studios to move forward on production on a pilot for Lumen.
The story is set along the lines of Jumanji or Zathura, where reality and fiction tend to get their lines blurred. A family of four finds themselves transported to a fantastic alternate reality that inspired the work of a renowned author, who has recently disappeared. Once there, they find themselves caught in the midst of a war between rival magical forces of light and dark. Throughout mysteries and secrets, they have to find their way home.
TNT is looking at Lumen as the possible third hour in the Sunday-night adventure block that includes Falling Skies (which we recap here at SciFi4Me) and The Last Ship. Joe Johnston, who directed Jumanji and Captain America: The First Avenger (as well as helping design the look of Boba Fett), is set to direct the pilot from a script by Chris Black. The two will also executive produce along with Amblin co-presidents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, Full Fathom Five’s James Frey and Todd Cohen.
