State of Play Recap: May 9

Sony popped in to say hello and to show us a few things to look forward to in another State of Play. Sony kept this one much shorter than the first State of Play, but there were still a few things to get excited about. If you don’t feel like watching, no sweat; here is everything that happened during Sony’s ten minute presentation.

Monster Hunter: World DLC

Monster Hunter: World kicked off the State of Play with a look at its new DLC; Iceborne. Capcom announced the “massive” expansion in December and was given first look during this State of Play. Riverbond

The new dungeon crawler was given a trailer to show off the delightful and destructible voxel world you can hack and slash through. Predator: Hunting Grounds

Developed by IllFonic, maker of the recent Friday the 13th game, who are playing into their strengths with this game. The game’s reveal did not show gameplay but did hint that it will be a similar style to Friday the 13th. One player will take control of the Predator and all of its hunting tactics, while the other players will have to try to survive. 20th Century is working with IllFonic to make sure fans get a quality Predator experience. Predator: Hunting Grounds launches 2020.

MediEvil

Sony gave us an extended look at the highly anticipated remake of MediEvil. The trailer was mostly gameplay and the only news we got was the release date. The trailer showed that the game is, most likely, getting the same love and care that Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon received. MediEvil, fittingly, launches October 25.

This new survival game lets you play as a Sugar Glider. While your only job is to survive, you’ll encounter natural disasters and vicious predators on your journey. This game definitely gives fans of survival games a different look. No release date for this game yet.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

A trailer for one of the most anticipated remakes of all time wrapped up the State of Play. The trailer showed off great looking cutscenes and gameplay. Many of the gameplay moves Cloud displayed has made the internet very excited. Square Enix will have more information on the game in June.
