Serious Superman Follows Sad Batman
Warner Brothers released the first promotional image of Henry Cavill as Kal El in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. On the heels of the first image of Ben Affleck as Batman — which quickly became the “Sad Batman” meme — this image is dark and grim enough that fans are starting to get a sense of the film’s tone.
Takeaways: it’s night, raining, and in a city that’s intact. Which means not Metropolis. Probably Gotham. Does this suggest the inevitable confrontation between the two DC icons will take place on Batman’s turf?
