New STAR WARS Set Video: It’s an X-Wing
As the “Force for Change” campaign winds down on Omaze, J.J. Abrams and the Lucasfilm gang have released a new video encouraging people to support the fund-raiser, which is raising money for the UNICEF Innovation Labs. Donors are automatically entered to win a chance to be an extra in Star Wars: Episode VII. Additional prizes include set tours and merchandise – t-shirts, posters, lightsabers, etc.
The campaign raised $1 million in the first twenty-four hours when it was announced in May, with donors from 119 countries participating. Disney has also committed an additional $1 million in support. Due to the success of “Force for Change”, Abrams has announced an additional prize to the winner of the associated contest: an advanced screening of the movie in a winner’s hometown for 20 of their friends a week before the film debuts on Dec. 18, 2015.

The video reveals Abrams standing in front of a one-man fighter craft, a finished version of the under-construction ship we saw in early leaked photos. There has immediately been some internet debate over whether or not this is an X-Wing, as media outlets claim. Many have taken to the comment boards to point out that this looks more like a Z-95 Headhunter. However, the Star Wars Twitter managers posted confirmation that this is, indeed, an Episode VII X-Wing.
@CDCanimation It is in fact an Episode VII X-wing, not a Z-95.
