TRANSFORMERS Story Group Adds Two More
On our last Week in Review, we reported that Ant-Man writers Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari had been the latest to join the expanding Transformers story group led by Akiva Goldsman. Now we have word that Christina Hodson and Lindsey Beer have joined the group.
Paramount Pictures brought Goldsman in to spearhead an expansion effort that would take the Transformers franchise into spinoff movies and other media properties to expand the story universe. Among those projects: a movie featuring Bumblebee and a story set on the Transformer home planet of Cybertron.
Neither Hodson nor Beer have very long track records. Hodson has one credit with Shut In, which just wrapped production. She’s got a spec script called The Eden Project that caught the attention of several, and she’s been hired to write a new version of The Fugitive. Beer, the daughter of Sundance Film Festival co-founder Gary Beer, has done work on the Short Circuit remake and is also set to write a new version of The Wizard of Oz.
Hodson and Beer join Barrer & Ferrari along with Robert Kirkman, Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, Zak Penn, and Jeff Pinkner.
