THE DARK KNIGHT RISES casting news? [UPDATED]
Collider is reporting that Eva Green and Naomi Watts have been cast in The Dark Knight Rises.
If other rumors hold true, this could likely mean Green would be playing Talia al Ghul while Watts takes the Vicky Vale role. This would fit into the arc first established in Batman Begins with Liam Neeson playing Ra’s al Ghul. Vale would likely be cast as an investigative reporter chasing the now-wanted Batman.
The other possibility would be that Green would be playing Selina Kyle/Catwoman, mainly because a lot of speculation has surrounded the casting of Tom Hardy, suspected to be playing Dr. Hugo Strange. This would dove-tail off rumors that the script is inspired by the Batman: Prey comic, in which Strange is the main antagonist and Catwoman the B-story criminal.
Other details from Collider’s source include new designs for the Batmobile and Batcave (including the Batcomputer).
According to Micheal Caine, shooting runs from May to November.
Collider also reminds everyone that this is still rumor. So have your salt ready.
UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter has just released word that Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel are all on a short list for “a villain and a love interest”, and that Green and Watts have not been cast yet.
