SyFy picks up Affleck/Damon Thriller INCORPORATED

SyFy continues to add to its current lineup of original programming with a new project by the dynamic writing duo of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The futuristic drama Incorporated has been ordered to series, starring Reign’s Sean Teale and produced by Pearl Street Films (Affleck and Damon’s production company).

Incorporated follows Ben Larson (Teale), a young executive in a treacherous future where corporations have unlimited power. In order to save the woman he loves, Larson must conceal his identity and infiltrate the dangerous world of corporate deceit- only to find he’s not the only one hiding deadly secrets.

“The most powerful science-fiction holds up a mirror to our world,” said SyFy and Chiller president Dave Howe. “Incorporated is exactly that type of smart, provocative series, delivering a fresh, edge-of-your-seat thriller that challenges notions of the world we live in today. We look forward to working with the stellar teams at Pearl Street Films, CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions to bring it to life for Syfy viewers this year.”

This follows a strategic trend at NBCUniversal to bulk up on original scripted series at SyFy, trading its Sharknado-esque image in favor of more high-profile sci-fi dramas. Other new programming on the 2016 docket include the Halloween anthology Channel Zero: Candle Cove, an adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s classic novel Brave New World by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, and Hyperion, executive produced by Guardians of the Galaxy’s Bradley Cooper. They join a critically acclaimed line up of currently airing dramas, The Magicians, 12 Monkeys, and The Expanse.

This will be Affleck and Damon’s first scripted series, which is slated for a 13-episode season starting Fall 2016. Also starring are Eddie Ramos (Teen Wolf), Emmy Award winner Julia Ormond (Mad Men), and Golden Globe nominee Dennis Haysbert (24).
