SHARKNADO 4 Gets a Worthy Title
When we last brought you news about our favorite unnatural disaster series, we shared casting details. However, at the time, the fourth film in the series didn’t yet have a title. Well, hold your collective breath no more, fans, because The Asylum announced yesterday that the official title is…wait for it…wait for it: Sharknado: The 4th Awakens! That’s quite the nod of respect to that other little sci-fi series that holds a special place in the hearts of a handful of die-hard fans.
Set to premiere Sunday, July 31 at 8 PM ET/PT, ST4A takes place five years after Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! Ian Ziering’s character Fin Shepard and the world have been blissfully sharknado-free in the interim years, but now regretfully/thankfully sharknados are back in business.
Tara Reid is set to return as April Wexler to reveal the outcome of the fan-voted #AprilLives or #AprilDies social campaign; you guys want to start a betting pool? David Hasselhoff (as Gil Shepard) and Ryan Newman (as Claudia Shepard) will also reprise their Sharknado 3 roles. New additions to the ST4A cast include Gary Busey, Tommy Davidson, Imani Hakim, Cody Linley, Masiela Lusha and Cheryl Tiegs.
Sharknado 4 is a production of The Asylum. Anthony C. Ferrante returns to direct with an original screenplay written by Thunder Levin.
The production crew promises more casting news to come, so stick with SciFi4Me and we’ll keep you updated on anything swimming our way.
