Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) could become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Variety reports that the actress is currently being considered to play Kate Bishop in the new Hawkeye series. Kate Bishop is a character who took up the alias of Hawkeye after Clint Barton died. She is also a core member of the Young Avengers.
The new Hawkeye series is set to premiere in 2021 on the new streaming service, Disney+. Not much is known about the project, other than Jeremy Renner’s reprisal of Clint Barton, AKA Hawkeye. The logo for the new series is also similar to the same Hawkeye logo that was used in the Matt Fraction run of Hawkeye at Marvel Comics. Said run of the comics featured Kate Bishop very prominently, so the television show is likely taking a page or two from those comics.
There is currently no word as to how long the series will be, even though it’s been speculated to only be 8 episodes. In addition to Hawkeye, there will also be Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk television shows on Disney+.
