Geena Davis Joins SHE-RA Cast

During the Bentonville Film Festival in Bentonville, AR, She-Ra and the Princess of Power executive producer Noelle Stevenson announced that Oscar winner Geena Davis has joined the cast.

Davis will have a recurring guest role as Huntara, the leader of the Crimson Waste. According to Deadline, Huntara reluctantly helps Adora, Glimmer, and Bow on a quest. The character will appear during the third season, which hits Netflix August 2. The original series is produced by DreamWorks Animation, and is a reboot of the original Filmation cartoon from the 1985.

Davis is no stranger to genre, having starred as Angela Rance in the Fox reboot of The Exorcist, Dr. Agnetta Lindquist on the remake of Coma, Veronica Quaife opposite Jeff Goldblum in The Fly, and of course, Barbara in Beetlejuice. She’s also appeared in Grey’s AnatomyCutthroat IslandA League of Their Own, and Earth Girls Are Easy. She won an Academy Award for her performance in The Accidental Tourist and was nominated again for her role as Thelma in Thelma & Louise. She also won a Golden Globe for her turn as President MacKenzie Allen in the ABC series Commander in Chief.
