DC Announces Midnighter’s Return And Apollo Is Coming With Him
DC comics has announced that Midnighter will be returning in his own title coming in October.

The 6 issue series will be written by Midnighter writer Steve Orlando with interiors by Fernando Blanco and covers by ACO. The limited series will also star Midnigher’s former teammate and boyfriend, Apollo. These two characters, who rose to prominence in the pages of The Authority in the early 2000’s, are notable as two of the first LGBT heroes to star in a mainstream book. Their relationship has been tumultuous at times and most recently they have been spending time apart. Orlando had this to say about the series in the official DC press release:
“Midnighter and Apollo have spent time apart—figuring out who they were when defined on their own instead of by their relationship. They have a firmer idea of who they are and they’ve become stronger and more confident together. Midnighter and Apollo are back to remind the world that it truly is a bad time to be bastards. This is the World’s Finest Couple—kicking back and making each other better than they are on their own.”

Orlando, 30, who is bisexual, recently posted on his blog about the impact Midnighter has had on him and his feelings about writing the recent solo series;
