Comic-Con Virgin – Day Two

It’s Friday and also the second day at San Diego Comic-Con. I got there at 7:30 a.m. for some intense line waiting. After about two hours I made it into Ballroom 20 and the “Torchwood” panel began. John Barrowman and Eve Myles stole the show and were absolutely captivating. At one point during the fan questions someone asked if John would sing a song so he began singing from Annie while Eve did a lovely interpretive dance along with him.

After the “Torchwood” panel we watched “The Walking Dead” panel. It was a a bit more formal than the “Torchwood” panel and as I am not as familiar with the show I didn’t really get very involved. The last panel we saw in Ballroom 20 though was “The Big Bang Theory”, which was quite entertaining. Jim Parsons is almost as awkward as Sheldon is on the show, which was quite hilarious.

After leaving Ballroom 20 I explored the convention floor again for a while and met up with a few indie comic book writers including Ryan Ferrier who writes for Terminals and Bailee DesRocher and Lauren Pottinger who are the creators of PMS Adventures.

Later I made may way over to my last panel of the day called Girls Gone Genre. It had a couple of my favorite writers including Marti Noxon and Jane Espenson, who both wrote for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. It was a great discussion about obstacles that females have in the industry and just how they have all done their best to make a difference.

Overall it was another fantastic day and I am excited for the next.
