TNT Renews THE LIBRARIANS

TNT has announced a fourth season for The Librarians, adding the series to its list of renewals including Major Crimes and Good Behavior.

The renewal follows the third season finale for a show that continues to be in the network’s top three series despite its not conforming to the new “darker, edgier” fare under the current network administration, which moved forward with Animal Kingdom instead of the Teen Titans series. The show averaged 5.4 million viewers per episode this season, drawing a crowd six years younger than TNT’s average audience.

The show follows in the footsteps of Raiders of the Lost ArkRelic HunterNational Treasure, and Warehouse 13 with its treasure hunting Librarians roaming the planet in search of magical artifacts to be stored in the Library in order to protect humanity from villainous sorcerers and evil schemers. The show stars Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Harlan Kim, and John Larroquette with Noah Wyle recurring as Flynn Carsen, his character from the original Librarian series of TV movies.

No date on a premiere, but we’ll keep you posted.
