Reiser will play Dr. Owens, a high-ranking member of the Department of Energy assigned to covering up the events of the previous year, like when Young Will Byers was kidnapped by a murderous being who came from another dimension to our own. Reiser, who made his genre mark as the corporate functionary Burke in Aliens, is best known for his role on the NBC sitcom Mad About You. He also starred in Beverly Hills Cop, Beverly Hills Cop 2, and My Two Dads. He is currently on Amazon’s Red Oaks.

Danish newcomer Berthelsen will play Roman, who is an emotionally damaged, magnetic woman who suffered a tragedy as a child. While she is not from Hawkins, she is somehow attached to the incidences that occurred during the first season. She has appeared on Danish TV in the shows EXITIUM and The Desert. Her debut lead was in a sci-fi thriller short NATSKYGGE in 2015.
Plots are still unknown though creators Matt and Ross Duffer stated there would be more investigation into the mythology of The Upside Down and various threats created by the DOE experiments. This adds to the excitement of now knowing Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven will be back around for more nosebleeds.
Executive producer Shawn Levy had previously stated there would be handful of compelling new characters this season and this new casting show that promise.
Stranger Things season 2 will debut in 2017 on Netflix.
