Neal McDonough Gets Darhk for ARROW
Warner Bros. Television has just announced the addition of Neal McDonough to the cast of Arrow.
McDonough, who’s also appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger and Agent Carter as Dum-Dum Dugan, will join the show as a series regular in the role of Damien Darhk.
Arrow has established Darhk as a villain that gives even Ra’s Al Ghul concerns, and in the third season finale we saw hints of his ability to scheme. Described in the DC Comics database as having a “genius-level intellect” with both the CIA and FBI watching him closely, Darhk also has ties to the criminal organization H.I.V.E. — a group that’s been in the shadows for a while, with only hints and quick mentions during the past two seasons.
H.I.V.E. rivals the League of Assassins in training mercenaries and skilled killers, and it should be noted that in the comics, the group is associated with Deathstroke, and both have been strongly associated with the Teen Titans, who are about to get their own show in TNT, which is owned by Time-Warner, the co-owner of the CW Network.
Arrow returns with “a lighter tone” on Wednesday, October 7th at 8/7c.
