The King of Thieves is… Groovy

Grillo-Marxuach is most well known for his work on Lost (for which he won a WGA award), and has also written for Charmed, Medium, and The Chronicle. He will be a welcome addition to the cult classic; he has even started working on some of the episodes, as Bruce Campbell had this to say:

“You know what’s great, though? Right at that moment, I was offered a three-episode arc on the new reboot as the older Autolycus. They come to me. They need my help to catch another thief. I’ve got it all figured out. This is going to be awesome. So if it gets rebooted …”

Though no official casting details have been released, both Lucy Lawless and Campbell where asked questions about reprising their respective Xena roles during a panel for their huge, new, Starz hit Ash vs Evil Dead.

Speaking of people reprising their roles, the Xena reboot will be run by the original co-creator Rob Tapert and the original exec producer Sam Raimi, both of whom are responsible for Ash vs Evil Dead.

With this team it looks like NBC is trying to make the best possible show and not just keeping up with the Joneses as Fox rolls out their X-Files and Prison Break sequels; CBS and Limitless; Showtime and Twin Peaks. With Javier Grillo-Marxuach and all the other talent they already have behind it, along with the right casting choices, Xena could be one of the biggest show of 2016!
