Lea Seydoux Has Lead Role Opposite GAMBIT
Blue is the Warmest Color star Lea Seydoux has been offered the lead role opposite Channing Tatum in the upcoming Gambit solo film, Deadline reports.
Abbey Lee of Mad Max: Fury Road and Rebecca Ferguson of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation were also considered for the role, but Seydoux was eventually picked.
Rupert Wyatt is directing the film and Josh Zetumer wrote the script. Seydoux will play Bella Donna Boudreaux, who met Gambit when they were children in the X-Men universe. Bella grew up to be the leader of the Assassins Guild.
Bella Donna Boudreaux was created by Roger Stern and Mike Zeck, and first appeared in 1980. She is a chemist who gets revenge after being publicly slandered, and that is when she takes the identity of Belladonna.
Gambit comes out on October 7, 2016.
