Haven Renewed

Good news, Havenites! Thanks to strong numbers among key demographics, Syfy has renewed Haven for a fourth season. From the press release:

November 9, 2012 – Syfy’s hit series Haven, the #1 cable program among Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 in its Friday 10-11PM (ET/PT) time period (based on Live +7 data), will return for a fourth season of 13 new episodes in 2013, it was announced today by Mark Stern, President, Original Content, Syfy, and Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions.

Despite the continuing trend among networks of ordering a ‘half’ season, this is good news indeed for fans of Haven. More than that, fans of original scripted dramas should appreciate this move when an increasing number of reality-based shows have been encrouching on Syfy’s primetime real estate.

Haven’s ratings performance is also worthy of note, performing strongly in a difficult timeslot.

The current third season is Haven’s best ever in Adults 25-54, averaging 1.2 million viewers, jumping five percent from season two (Live +7 data).  Overall, season three of Haven is averaging 2.4 million total viewers and 942,000 Adults18-49.  The September 21 season premiere attracted 2.8 million total viewers, a series record and up ten percent from the season two premiere.

It is rare to see a drama’s ratings avoid falling from season to season, let alone increase. The citizens of Haven have certainly earned another season free from worrying about cancellation troubles.

If you are not watching Haven, maybe you should be! The show airs at 10pm EST on Fridays on Syfy.
