GOTHAM Solves a Riddle
In the midst of the very obvious over-the-top “news” deluge of April 1, we got some actual casting news related to Gotham.
Fox has announced that actor Cory Michael Smith will play Edward Nygman, the alter-ego of Batman’s clever conundrum creator, the Riddler. No other details in the article, except to note that Smith has been in Todd Haynes’ feature film Carol, the Sundance film Camp X-Ray and the HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge.
Nygma joins fellow rogues gallery members Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) and Selina Kyle (albeit a young one, played by newcomer Camren Bicondova) as their pre-villain identities come into play during this story that focuses on Detective James Gordon as he investigates the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne.
