DISCOVERY Finds a Captain and a Cadet

Star Trek: Discovery, which has been delayed yet again, has added two more to the cast: Jason Isaacs and Mary Wiseman.

Isaacs, whose credits include the Harry Potter franchise, Awake, and The OA, will play Captain Lorca, the commanding officer of the U.S.S. Discovery.

Wiseman joins the cast as Cadet Tilley, in her final year at Starfleet Academy. Her credits include study at the prestigious Julliard school, Longmire, and Difficult People, as well as several stage productions.

The two join a cast that includes Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones, Terry Serpico, Maulik Pancholy, James Frain as a young Sarek, and Sonequa Martin-Green in the lead role as the ship’s first officer, Lt. Commander Rainsford. David Semel is set to direct the first episode.

Star Trek: Discovery will air its first episode across many of CBS’ platforms, including the main network, and then run the rest of the episodes exclusively in the United States on the CBS All Access digital channel.
