AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: Not Perfect, but It Delivers

Just ten years after Sam Raimi first put Tobey Maguire in the spandex, Marc Webb puts Andrew Garfield in the web-head’s duds (designed by Cirque du Soleil) for a re-telling of the origin tale.

Setting aside the hue and cry over a reboot only five years after the Raimi trilogy wrapped up, and setting aside the fact that Sony was obligated to make a Spider-Man picture before the rights reverted back to Marvel, does the movie stand up on its own merits?
