I’d also like to point you toward the Baen Free Library, a collection of novels from authors at the Baen imprint. Many of these are first novels in a series, and the collection rotates. And there’s also the Science Fiction collection at ManyBooks. Plus, the folks at GoodReads has also collected several titles as well. And there’s also a good set at Lightspeed Magazine.
