Heads up, True Believers. A new Spider-Man animated movie is planned for release in July of 2018 according to Sony Pictures.

Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Thursday, Sony executive Tom Rothman announced that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the team behind The Lego Movie and Cloudy, With a Chance of Meatballs, will write and produce the web-slinger’s large screen animation debut.

Spider-Man’s first solo live-action outing within Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is slated for July of 2017, following his introduction in Captain America: Civil War in May of 2016.

Rothman indicated during the announcement that the animated Spider-Man vehicle would maintain continuity with the live-action Marvel story arc. However, a press release issued later that day stated “The film will exist independently of the projects in the live-action Spider-Man universe, all of which are continuing.”

‘Nuff said.
