Roundup 12.17.11 – GHOSTBUSTERS 3
The latest on Ghostbusters 3. Will they or won’t they? Here’s a non-update update.
Dan Ackroyd says he’s still tweaking the script (but he’s been saying that for a while, now). Bill Murray is still not on board. And Sony reportedly won’t make the film without the entire gang. [More at Movies.com] Murray, meanwhile, has been off doing other non-genre work such as his latest, A Glimpse Inside The Mind Of Charles Swan III with Charlie Sheen.
Should there even be a GB3? At this point, it seems to be a nice pipe dream for Ackroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ivan Reitman. Does the whole thing hinge on Murray’s involvement? In the past, Ackroyd has hinted that the film could go forward even if Murray’s character is not included, but if Deadline.com is right, Sony will pull the plug before it ever gets that far if he’s not on board.
