According to The Guardian, filming is set to start in November for what will be titled Neil Gaiman’s Likely Stories . Produced by Sid Gentle Films, the series will be directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard and will star “an ensemble cast”.

There’s little information about which of Gaiman’s stories will be the ones chosen for adaptation. Gaiman is currently on tour promoting his latest book of short stories, Trigger Warning, and has five other collections of short stories they can delve from.

Of course, this isn’t the only adaptations of Gaiman’s work that are currently in production. American Gods is due on Starz, his children’s book Fortunately, the Milk was just announced to be a movie directed by Edgar Wright and starring Johnny Depp, and there’s the ongoing potential of a Sandman movie.

I admit: my first Gaiman purchase was his collection Smoke and Mirrors back in 2008, as he had been on the sidelines of my interests for quite a while and I had come across his writing in other collections. So far, I’ve enjoyed other adaptations of his, whether it’s the movies Stardust and MirrorMask, or the radio adaptations of Good Omens and Neverwhere for BBC. So, I’m tentatively excited about this. So, what short stories do you hope the series will adapt? Comment below.
