DC FanDome Highlights Upcoming Games

This past weekend DC FanDome, showed big news in the DC universe and the games section was no slouch. There may not have been the most games released, but some quality games are in the near future: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Gotham Knights, and DC Heroes & Villains.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

In the latest trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League there was no gameplay footage, which is normally strange for a trailer. The scene starts off with the Arkham Asylum and cars driving through. Afterwards, Amanda Waller is recruiting a squad in the next scene in the game’s first combat area. This follows with the Suicide Squad gearing up with Gizmo. Next seen is King Shark putting on his bowler hat that Riddler wore in Arkham city and Harley Quinn shoots Batman’s grapple gun. Gizmo is satisfied and sends them into the thick of the war. In the trailer you see a junker Batmobile with a Bat-signal for a headlight but no sign of who may be driving it. Poison Ivy and Penguin make their return later in the trailer as well. Rocksteady creative director Sefton Hill described the game as a hybrid between the Arkham Games and open-world Metropolis. All of this is coming soon in 2022.

Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights also got highlighted at fandom. The co-op focused game takes palace right after the death of Batman. The four playable characters include Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl and Red Hood in an attempt to defend Gotham in an RPG style game. The game summary includes Gotham turning into a chaotic city after Batman’s death and with a lack of help from the GCPD, the Bat-family need to join forces to save the city that they and the Dark Knight had sworn to keep safe. The story of the game involves investigating Batman’s death while also discovering the Court of Owls who have secretly controlled the city for years. This game is set to release in 2022.

DC Heroes and Villains

Lastly, the DC Heroes and Villains was announced, and it will be available on iOS and Android. Jam City and Ludia Inc. have collaborated with DC Comics that is a match-three title featuring characters from numerous comic book series.
