Blake Wilson, also known by his alter-ego, BatDad, has been producing Vine videos for a couple of years now, ever since he bought a $10 plastic Batman mask at the store and, as a gag, recorded a Vine where he adopted the gravelly Bat-voice and started dishing out little moments of his family’s life with a superhero.

Seen by some as also dishing out some pretty solid advice in parenting, Wilson’s videos are enormously popular, and he says “It’s the best $10 I’ve ever spent.”

Earlier this week, Wilson has another reason to be respected among fans: the adoption of RobinDog, also known as Sugar. What makes it notable is that Sugar is a Pit Bull, and Wilson admits he was among the crowd who believed the negative press about the breed. “I was one of those people unfortunately until we brought Sugar home. She’s the sweetest dog and LOVES the kids. I’ve learned a lot about pits since we got her,” he writes on his Facebook page.

Wilson’s family fostered Sugar, eventually adopting the dog through the You Lucky Dog Rescue organization in Georgia.

Answering comments on the Facebook post where he announced the adoption, Wilson wrote, “She was our first foster and we knew after a couple weeks we were gonna keep her. She just fit in perfectly!”
