Route 29 Batman Is Killed In Fatal Accident
The Washington Post reported that Leonard B. Robinson, 51, pulled over on the highway when he was having car trouble, and according to reports he was still “partially in the fast lane.” Around 10:30 pm, a Toyota Camry crashed into the Batmobile and killed Robinson.
Kids knew Robinson as Batman. He wore an elaborate costume and went to hospitals to visit sick children. The black makeup and suit took him about 45 minutes to put on. He became famous three years ago when he was pulled over by police while he was wearing the full Batman suit and driving the Batmobile. There were complications with his licence plate, and you can watch the video here:
The children who visited Robinson loved him, and when he visited them he always made sure to give them memorabilia autographed “Batman.” Robinson worked with Henry with Hope, an organization founded by Laurie Strongin and Allen Goldberg after their son died from a rare disease. The organization throws superhero parties at hospitals, and Stronglin said, “When I asked him to do anything, he always said yes.”
The family is asking for donations to be made to Superheroes for Kids, c/o Marilyn Richardson of Sinai Hospital, 2401 W. Belvedere Ave., Baltimore, MD 21215.
