Haven Goes…Where it Goes Every Week

Haven announcing a Halloween episode is like Glee announcing a musical special. Regardless, tune in or set your DVRs this Friday for a special episode directed by a frequent guest star from season two!

From the press release:

Syfy’s popular series Haven joins the frightful holiday spirit with a ghoulish Halloween program on Friday, October 26 at 10PM (ET/PT), directed by Jason Priestley (Call Me Fitz, Beverly Hills 90210). In the episode, Audrey (Emily Rose), Nathan (Lucas Bryant) and Duke (Eric Balfour) are trapped in Haven’s most infamous haunted house while investigating a mysterious murder. Secrets are revealed when their#1 captor begins pitting them against each other.

Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey) also guest stars as Roland Holloway, a troubled man bent on vengeance against one of Haven’s own.

Sounds like business as usual in Haven (which is not a bad thing). Still, the promise of revelations that will further the the three main characters’ arcs is great to hear.

In other Haven news, the third season premiere pulled in record numbers for Syfy, in what they called the “#1 primetime drama on cable.”

The season three premiere of Syfy’s hit drama series Haven became the #1 primetime drama on cable in Adults 25-54 during its telecast on Friday, September 21 from 10-11 PM (ET/PT).

The delivery of 899,000 Adults 25-54 was up 13 percent from the season two premiere and represented the series’ best delivery in that demo in two years (September 2010).

Haven also drew 2.0 million total viewers, up six percent versus the July 2011 season two premiere.

To be fair, being number one at 10pm (9 Central) on a Friday night should not bedifficult to accomplish; the night has not been a primetime destination in nearly twenty years. However, that two million viewers tuned in, live, is quite an accomplishment for a series and serves as evidence that it deserves to be in a more visible timeslot.

The future looks good for Haven; with the greater focus on the central characters and their place in Haven’s history (and future), viewers will continue to be rewarded.
