Del Toro Delivers JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK Script

BANNER_News2013

Forbes magazine is reporting that Guillermo Del Toro has delivered a competed screenplay for Justice League: Dark Universe.

According to the article by Mark Hughes, Del Toro’s script is now officially in the hands of studio executives at Warner Brothers for “weekend reads”. The director confirmed this during an interview with Hughes about The Strain. Many have wondered about the status of the project since we first learned about it in 2013. Given that Dark Universe wasn’t on Warner Brothers’ slate of DC Comics films, it was starting to look like it was a diminishing possibility.

If the studio does move forward with Dark Universe, two questions that arise would be the release date and if it would connect with the overall DC Cinematic Universe, or if it would stand alone. Much like Big Hero 6 is a Marvel movie without being a “Marvel movie”. If it’s a stand-alone film, would there be a possibility of crossing over with NBC’s Constantine and including Matt Ryan in the cast?

Del Toro is also continuing his work on a sequel to Pacific Rim, which he says will not be a direct follow-up, and will likely include Charlie Day’s character.
