Amazon’s WHEEL OF TIME Series Adds Four Cast Members

Amazon announced four new cast members for its highly anticipated adaptation of the novel series known as Wheel of Time.

Álvaro Morte (The Head) has been cast as the powerful wizard Logain, Hammed Animashaun (Black Mirror) is set to play the Ogier Loial, Alexandre Willaume (Last Kingdom) will play Thom Merrilin the elderly bard, and Johann Myers (Snatch) has been cast as the villainous Padan Fain.

Wheel of Time is a High Fantasy series, where magic exists, but only a select few people can use it, with even fewer being considered powerful magic-users. The story follows Moiraine , a member of the influential and dangerously powerful all-female organization known as the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. After doing so, she sets off on a journey with a party of five adventurers, one of which is said to be the fabled Dragon Reborn, who will either save humanity or destroy it outright.

The show is going to be produced by Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Uta Briesewitz (Westworld) is going to direct the first two episodes of this highly anticipated adaptation of the beloved book series. Originally conceived as a six-book series, the Wheel of Time story spread over fourteen novels, a prequel novel, and two companion books, in addition to other media. Author Robert Jordan died before completing the twelfth novel in the series, but his extensive notes were used by Brandon Sanderson to complete the series.

The cast also includes Madeleine Madden (Redfern Now), Marcus Rutherford (County Lines), Barney Harris (Billionaire Boys Club), Zoë Robins (Power Rangers Ninja Steel), Josha Stradowski (Just Friends) and Daniel Henney (X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

No word has been given as to how faithful of an adaptation this will be, or when it will come out on Amazon Prime Video.
